Biography
Chris Robinson has been involved in music in some way or another since he was eleven. As trombone player in the Londonderry High School Marching Band, he has performed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL, NASCAR Races at the New Hampshire International Speedway, the St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York, NY, and the 2008 Pre-Olympic Cultural Festival in Beijing, China.
After graduating from Londonderry High School in 2008, Chris attended Keene State College in Keene, NH, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education in 2012. Chris performed regularly as a bass player on campus and abroad with the Keene State Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble, where he has also played trombone and guitar. He gave his senior recital on double bass on March 24, 2012, where he performed Henry Eccles' Sonata in G minor, Antonio Vivaldi's Sonata No. 5 in E minor, and Dominico Dragonetti's Concerto for Double Bass in A major, followed by Kenny Drew's Devilette and Victor Feldman's Seven Steps to Heaven, with tenor saxophone player Scott Mullett, and his brother, fellow Keene State alumni George Robinson.
Chris has also sang baritone voice in the Keene State Chamber Singers and played trombone in the Keene State Brass Ensemble & Concert Band.
Chris has played all around New England as a member of musical production orchestras, jazz groups, rock groups, and as a singer/songwriter. Chris plays bass, trombone, trumpet, and sings with a local rock group called The 123's, with whom he has recorded two full length albums and one acoustic live album.
Chris has been teaching private bass students for over five years. He completed his student teaching at Brattleboro Union High School and Brattleboro Area Middle School in Brattleboro, VT. Chris tutored music theory and ear training at Keene State from 2009 to 2012. He served as a residence assistant during the Links Summer College Program in 2012. Chris was the bass guitar instructor at The Putney School in Putney, VT from August to December 2012.
In December, 2012, Chris will join Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a bass player aboard the Mariner of the Seas, where he is contracted through June, 2013.
